NDIS support

Understanding the NDIS

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) funds supports and services for Australians with a permanent and significant disability. We're here to help you make the most of your plan.

What Is the NDIS?

The NDIS is an Australian Government initiative that provides funding directly to people with disability, giving them choice and control over the supports they receive. Rather than funding service systems, the NDIS funds individual people — so you decide what support you need and who provides it.

If you're eligible, you'll receive an individualised NDIS plan that outlines your goals and the funding available to help you achieve them. Funding is broken into three support budget categories, and you can use registered providers like Brighter Community Support Service to deliver those supports.

Am I Eligible for the NDIS?

To access the NDIS you generally need to meet the following criteria:

  • Be under 65 years of age when you first apply
  • Be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a Protected Special Category Visa
  • Have a permanent disability that significantly affects your ability to take part in everyday activities
  • Require support now to reduce your future support needs

Not sure if you're eligible? Contact the NDIS directly on 1800 800 110, or reach out to us and we'll help you understand your options.

Plan Management Types

Self-Managed

Plan-Managed

A registered plan manager handles the financial side on your behalf — paying invoices, tracking budgets, and providing monthly statements. You still choose your providers.

NDIA-Managed

The NDIA pays your providers directly. You must use registered providers like Brighter Community Support Service. Simple and straightforward.
