Our Story
Brighter Community Support Service was founded with a simple but powerful belief: every person with disability deserves support that truly sees them as an individual — not a diagnosis, not a funding package, but a whole person with unique goals, strengths, and dreams.
We started as a small team of passionate support workers in Sydney who were frustrated by a system that too often prioritised compliance over connection. We knew there was a better way — one built on genuine relationships, deep listening, and a commitment to walking alongside each participant on their journey.
Today, Brighter Community Support Service is a growing team of dedicated professionals, but our founding values remain unchanged. Every support plan we deliver, every skill we help build, every community connection we foster — it all comes back to that original belief.

Esra Kanar
Director & Support Worker
Esra is the Director of Brighter Community Support Service Pty Ltd, with over 8 years of experience working across care, support and community-focused environments. She is passionate about providing safe, respectful, reliable and person-centred support that helps participants feel heard, valued and supported in their everyday lives. Esra established Brighter Community Support Service with a focus on helping participants build independence, confidence, everyday living skills and meaningful community connections. As a director-led service, Esra is committed to providing consistent communication, personalised support and a genuine understanding of each participant’s individual goals, choices and preferences.
